Joy Behar Waited 29 Years to Marry Retired School Teacher 7 Years Younger than Her

Joy Behar found love again after her first marriage ended, but she waited nearly three decades before marrying her current husband, who is a few years younger than her. In a candid interview, Behar shared the surprising topic that leads to most arguments in their relationship.Born on October 7, 1942, Joy Behar recently turned 82. She has been a longtime co-host of the daytime talk show, “The View,” which she joined as one of the original panelists in 1997.

Although she was briefly let go in 2013, she returned in 2015, later admitting that she was “glad to be fired” as she had grown tired of the show for reasons she couldn’t remember. When discussing her departure, she said that even the network couldn’t pinpoint why they removed her, calling the decision “very stupid” but adding that the network had learned their lesson.

Since her return, Behar has remained a central figure on the popular show and has expressed no plans to retire anytime soon. She signed a contract extension and shared in an October 2022 interview that she still enjoyed her role and was happy to be part of such a successful program. While Behar celebrated her 81st birthday on “The View” in 2023, she downplayed the significance of the day, humorously stating that she was just grateful to be alive at her age.

In addition to her successful career, Behar is happily married to Steve Janowitz, a retired schoolteacher. The couple wed in August 2011 after being together for 29 years. For their intimate ceremony, Behar and Janowitz wore matching black outfits. Despite their long relationship, Behar has revealed that they don’t argue much, except about one thing: the car.
