His parents believe they know why his reaction was so quick

Not all heroes wear capes—some come in the form of a quick-thinking 13-year-old.

Dillon Reeves from Michigan was riding his school bus like any other day when he noticed it swerving. Concerned, he checked on the driver and saw she had passed out, her hands off the wheel and foot off the pedals.

Realizing the danger, Dillon grabbed the steering wheel, steered the bus to safety, and hit the brakes—bringing it to a stop with 60 students onboard. He then calmly told his classmates to call 911.

Thankfully, no one was hurt. The driver was taken to the hospital and later recovered. She later thanked Dillon, saying his actions saved lives and property.

Dillon’s parents said he’s always been alert and aware of his surroundings. His dad added, “We’re just so proud of him.”

Though the community hails him as a hero, Dillon remains humble: “I just stopped the bus.”
