Former Praises

Devin Nunes, former chair of the House Intelligence Committee and current CEO of Truth Social, voiced strong support over the weekend for national security expert Kash Patel, who is reportedly being considered to lead the FBI.

Speaking with Fox News host Mark Levin, Nunes highlighted Patel’s broad background in both defense and prosecution, calling him a uniquely qualified candidate to take on the challenges facing the bureau.

“Kash Patel is someone who knows how the system works from the inside out,” Nunes said. “His early experience as a public defender and later as a federal prosecutor gives him valuable insight into both sides of the justice system.”

According to Nunes, Patel’s career path has positioned him to understand the legal and operational dynamics of federal law enforcement agencies, including the Department of Justice and the FBI. He noted that this experience could help guide reforms aimed at strengthening transparency and accountability.

Levin, who introduced the segment, described Patel as a reform-minded figure who may be able to address longstanding concerns within the FBI. Nunes echoed that sentiment, emphasizing the importance of restoring public trust in federal institutions.

“If we want to rebuild confidence in our justice system, we need leaders who understand both the legal framework and the concerns of everyday Americans,” Nunes said. “Justice is supposed to be blind and balanced, and that principle is essential for a healthy democracy.”

Patel, a former top adviser in national security and intelligence roles, has previously served as chief of staff to the acting Secretary of Defense and was involved in congressional oversight efforts during his time on Capitol Hill.

Nunes also discussed how past controversies and investigations have contributed to growing concerns about fairness in the application of justice. He said a leader like Patel could help bridge gaps and restore a focus on nonpartisan enforcement of the law.

While no official announcement has been made, speculation around Patel’s potential appointment has sparked discussion among legal and political observers. Supporters point to his experience in both defense and prosecution as rare and valuable for someone taking on a senior role in law enforcement.

Critics and watchdog groups, meanwhile, continue to emphasize the importance of safeguarding the FBI’s independence, regardless of leadership changes.

In closing his remarks, Nunes said, “This isn’t just about one agency or one administration. It’s about making sure our justice system works the way it was always meant to — fairly, impartially, and in service of the American people.”
