Everyone’s noticed the same tiny detail in Trump’s May the 4th photo

On May 4th, Star Wars Day, the White House posted a striking AI-generated image of Donald Trump, portrayed as a muscular hero wielding a lightsaber in front of U.S. flags and bald eagles. The caption criticized the left, comparing them to the Empire and claiming they were fighting for dangerous elements. The image quickly drew attention, particularly because Trump was holding a red lightsaber, which is traditionally associated with Sith Lords, the villains of the Star Wars universe.

This choice sparked ironic reactions, as it seemed to suggest Trump, who positioned himself as fighting against the dark side, was aligned with it instead. Some defended the red lightsaber as a nod to the Republican Party’s color, but many saw it as a major misstep.

This is not the first AI-generated image from the White House to spark controversy. Another image of Trump dressed as the Pope also caused a stir. When asked about it, Trump dismissed the criticism, suggesting that those offended “can’t take a joke.”
