Karen Rodas and Paul Rybkin faced heartbreak when their son, Nathaniel, lived only 36 hours due to Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). In 2013, their daughter, Maddy, was born with the same condition. Despite numerous hospital visits and treatments, her health declined, leaving her weak and constantly ill.
Doctors warned she needed a kidney transplant to survive. Her father, Paul, turned out to be a match and donated his kidney, saving her life. The surgery was a success, and Maddy transformed into a happy, energetic child.
Paul humbly stated he did what any parent would, and now the family cherishes watching Maddy grow. While she may need another transplant in the future, for now, she’s thriving.
