It splits funding deadlines, with some programs expiring January 19 and others February 2, aiming to avoid a massive year-end spending bill.<\/p>\n

Johnson says the plan promotes fiscal responsibility, oversight on Ukraine aid, and U.S.-Mexico border reforms. It excludes aid for Ukraine and Israel, as separate funding was proposed for Israel. Senate Democrats criticized the plan as overly complex.<\/p>\n

Johnson also drew attention for his modest finances, unlike past wealthy speakers. Some Democrats called his disclosure \u201cstrange,\u201d while Republicans praised him as a relatable, non-wealthy leader.<\/p>\n
