A co-host of ABC\u2019s highly progressive morning program \u201cThe View\u201d has been named in a recently published U.S. House report that advocates for a criminal investigation into Liz Cheney for potential witness tampering, indicating that she may soon require legal representation.<\/p>\n

Alyssa Farah Griffin, the relatively moderate member among the five co-hosts and a former spokesperson for Trump, engaged in \u201ccoaching\u201d sessions with Cassidy Hutchinson, a witness who provided testimony during Cheney\u2019s congressional hearings regarding the heavily scrutinized January 6th, 2021, incident at the Capitol. In the report, House Subcommittee on Oversight Chairman Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) asserts that Farah Griffin significantly assisted Hutchinson in formulating her public responses \u2014 all without the presence of legal counsel. The report categorizes such actions as \u201cwitness tampering,\u201d which constitutes a federal offense.<\/p>\n

In the months leading up to Hutchinson\u2019s significant private and public testimony, Cheney engaged in communication with Hutchinson, both directly and via an intermediary, Alyssa Farah Griffin, while Hutchinson was under the representation of her attorney, Stefan Passantino. The Select Committee conducted a total of six transcribed interviews with Hutchinson, with Passantino serving as her legal counsel during the initial three sessions, as reported by the Oversight Committee, according to the Gateway Pundit.<\/p>\n

A series of text messages exchanged between Farah Griffin and Hutchinson, which were made public on social media, reveal a shared animosity towards President-elect Donald Trump, a sentiment that united them as they prepared to attribute blame to him for the events of January 6. On May 2, 2021, Farah Griffin noted, \u201cHmm ok. That was definitely Liz\u2019s direction,\u201d indicating her awareness of Cheney\u2019s intended investigative approach. In contemplating how her testimony might be perceived, Hutchinson inquired, \u201cCan you tip off Liz?\u201d to which Farah Griffin responded, \u201cI am happy to tip Liz off.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hutchinson, who was formerly the Special Assistant to the President and Coordinator for Legislative Affairs for White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadow, testified as Cheney\u2019s \u201cstar witness,\u201d Loudermilk writes in his report, and as such was critical in assigning blame to President-elect Trump for the violence which occurred that day. Among other revelations, Hutchinson testified that she had seen Trump reach across the driver of his vehicle and lunge for the wheel in an effort to return to the White House at a time when Secret Service agents had deemed it unsafe. In her testimony, Hutchinson described being \u201cdisgusted\u201d by Trump\u2019s actions, calling them \u201cunpatriotic\u201d and \u201cun-American.\u201d Following the end of the J6 committee, Hutchinson stated in a televised interview that she corresponded with Farah Griffin for more than a year, \u201cbackchannel[ing] for a third interview without my former attorney\u2019s knowledge at the time, with one of my good friends, Alyssa Farah Griffin.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHutchinson\u2019s messages indicate that she and Farah Griffin colluded to create a false story about why Hutchinson needed to do a third transcribed interview for the Select Committee,\u201d the report goes on. It also notes that Hutchinson began a \u201cdramatic change in testimony\u201d following interference by Cheney and Farah Griffin.<\/p>\n

If Farah Griffin is in legal jeopardy as a result of Loudermilk\u2019s investigation, it would be another devastating blow for ABC, which earlier this week agreed to pay President-elect Trump $16 million to settle a defamation lawsuit. The network\u2019s executives are already contemplating a total overhaul of \u201cThe View\u201d in a bid to add more pro-Trump voices.
