I (29F) have been with my fianc\u00e9, Mark (34M), for two years, and we got engaged this summer.<\/p>\n
I was excited for our first Christmas together, but a week before, he told me he\u2019d spend Christmas with his daughter,<\/p>\n
Ella (6F), and his ex-wife, Jen, as they\u2019ve always done since their divorce.<\/p>\n
This blindsided me since he never mentioned it before.<\/p>\n
On Christmas Eve, I overheard Mark on the phone with Jen saying,<\/p>\n
\u201cShe won\u2019t know until it\u2019s too late,\u201d and learned they planned for him to stay at her house overnight to wake up with Ella.<\/p>\n
They agreed to exclude me because Jen felt \u201cweird\u201d about me being there.<\/p>\n
