On January 10, 2025, News Nation Senior National Correspondent Brian Entin reported that the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is investigating the Kenneth Fire as an arson case.<\/p>\n
Entin revealed that police have taken a suspect into custody and later posted a video on X (formerly Twitter) confirming the information. The footage featured LAPD Senior Lead Officer Charles Dinsel addressing the situation.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat we know right now is that the incident occurred here, and about 20 to 30 minutes later, a suspect was detained over in the Woodland Hills area by citizens,\u201d Officer Dinsel stated during the interview. When asked if this indicated that someone intentionally started the Kenneth Fire, Dinsel responded, \u201cAt this time, that\u2019s what we believe, yes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were sitting in the backyard when suddenly we heard a car screech to a halt. A man ran out yelling, \u2018Stop! Drop what you\u2019re holding! Neighbors, he\u2019s trying to start a fire! Call 911!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
Grinshpun recounted how neighbors worked together to corner the man, who appeared to be holding a large propane tank or flamethrower, after he was spotted attempting to light an object on fire behind a car. \u201cA few gentlemen surrounded him and got him on his knees. They got some zip ties, a rope, and we were able to do a citizens\u2019 arrest,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n
