President Donald Trump has announced that Dan Bongino will be the next deputy director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).<\/p>\n
Trump posted the announcement on his Truth Social\u00a0account: \u201cGreat news for Law Enforcement and American Justice! Dan Bongino, a man of incredible love and passion for our Country, has just been named the next DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF THE FBI, by the man who will be the best ever Director, Kash Patel. Dan has a Masters Degree in Psychology from C.U.N.Y., and an MBA from Penn State. He was a member of the New York Police Department (New York\u2019s Finest!), a highly respected Special Agent with the United States Secret Service, and is now one of the most successful Podcasters in the Country, something he is willing and prepared to give up in order to serve. Working with our great new United States Attorney General, Pam Bondi, and Director Patel, Fairness, Justice, Law and Order will be brought back to America, and quickly. Congratulations Dan!\u201d<\/p>\n

On X, Bongino responded, simply\u00a0writing,\u00a0\u201cThank you Mr. President, Attorney General Bondi, and Director Patel.\u201d<\/p>\n
Last week, Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) took the highly unusual step of traveling to the FBI headquarters building in Washington, D.C., this week to lament the president\u2019s choice of Patel to become the bureau\u2019s new director just hours before the full Senate confirmed him.<\/p>\n
The California Democrat, who was accompanied by about a half-dozen other members of his party, disparaged Patel in remarks to the media, leading critics to observe that his blatantly political act was bringing more shame and dishonor to himself.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is someone we cannot trust,\u201d Schiff said. \u201cThis is someone who lacks the character to do this job, someone who lacks the integrity to do this job.\u201d<\/p>\n
Following his remarks, others \u2014 including Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk \u2014 noted on social media that Schiff\u2019s antics reflect his realization that Patel, who uncovered the \u2018Trump-Russia collusion\u2019 hoax, is well aware of the California Democrat\u2019s role in perpetuating that lie, even turning it into one of two impeachment cases during Trump\u2019s first term.<\/p>\n
